Day 39 in the NICU- October 7, 2012

We were at the hospital for rounds today. The doctors think all of Avery's b's are due to her prematurity so far. He said if she is still having a great deal of b's around 40 weeks, they will do more scans but right now, it just seems to be due to her being so premature. She weighed 940 grams tonight! She will be having an eye exam on Wednesday, which I am nervous about.

Check out my cool new sheets. It has pigs on them.

This blanket was given to Mommy and Daddy by Therese from March of Dimes for when they kangaroo with me.

This is a picture of Daddy changing my diaper the other day. (Ignore the fact that he doesn't have clothes on, it was right after kangarooing with me.)

Day 38 in the NICU- October 6, 2012

Avery was kangarooing today and had 6 bradys. The only reason the nurse didn't put her back in her isolette is because the nurse knew that Avery's bradys usually like to come in groups or clusters. I called for an update at 11:30pm and she only had one brady since 7pm and it was right after hands on so she is doing better.

Guess who is a big girl and made it to 910 grams/ 2 pounds, today?!?! We are so excited!

This is a picture during kangarooing with Mommy when I was being good and not have a brady.

I had my eyes open most of the time for kangarooing today.

Day 37 in the NICU- October 5, 2012

Avery had a rough afternoon but seems to be doing better. We were here for hands on and Tim got to kangaroo with her. We also got a few pictures after they deep suctioned her. She was very alert and had her eyes open. Her weight was 880 grams.

Look at me..I am finally wearing diapers you can buy in the store and don't have to special order..pampers preemies. Mommy says I look like Steve Urkel but I don't know who that is.

Here is a picture of me with my eyes wide open.

Look at me. I am getting bigger!

I like holding Daddy's hand

Day 36 in the NICU- October 4, 2012

Avery is 5 weeks old today!

Avery had a rough day with about 15 bradys. They ended up decreasing her feedings by .5ml so she is now getting 5ml and is doing much better. She only had one brady in the past 3 hours. She weighs 880 grams, so close to 2 pounds!

This is me practicing covering my ears for when Daddy is playing his instruments and singing. Just kidding Daddy!

Day 35 in the NICU- October 3, 2012

Avery had a better day today but still had a bunch of Bradys. They increased her feeds so she is getting 5.5 ml of milk/formula an hour. She had an ultrasound of her brain the other day and today the Nurse Practitioner told us it was normal. They are weighing her later so I don't have her weight for tonight.

In this picture I am practicing making a fist in case anyone makes fun of me later on for having red hair

I found my thumb today. It's fun to suck on and fits in my mouth much better than those huge pacifiers.

Day 34 in the NICU- October 2, 2012

Avery seems to be doing better today than the last couple of days. She has been tolerating her feeds and is on room air. Supposedly she weighs 880 grams! She is soooo close to 2 pounds. We can't wait until she hits that milestone.

Sometimes I don't like my picture taken. Today was one of those days.

I forgot to tell you that my cousins Nichole, Jenny and Christina got me this cute stuffed animal. It even plays "You are my sunshine". Mommy likes to play it for me when she comes and visits.

Day 33 in the NICU- October 1, 2012

Avery is having an ok day today. She is still having bradys but not as many as yesterday. She does not have an infection and they are discontinuing her antibiotics today. They did not weigh her yet tonight  so I will have an update on her weight tomorrow.

Grandma decided to bring this St. Colette medal to my room at the NICU. St Colette is the patron saint of sick children.

Christ Child Society of Cleveland left Mommy and Daddy this package for me (and the other parents at the NICU). It is full of lots of neat things. I can't wait to start using everything that's in there.

This is a picture of me smiling when mommy came to visit me earlier today :-)
