Fun in Quarantine - 2020

You would think being home everyday and working from home 95% of the time that I would have more time to update this blog. You would also think our house should be spotless. But it's pretty much the complete opposite. I feel like I have no time. Since the kids are at home, all day everyday, we clean and then 30 seconds later it gets messed up. This past week have been really trying to clean up around here though. Tim cleaned Avery and Reagan's room. I rearranged the master bedroom because I needed a bigger office area since I will be working from home probably 60-70% of the time in the near future for awhile. I moved the bed and you should have seen everything I found under there. It was disgusting. I felt like I was on an episode of hoarders. I found at least 20 socks, so many kids toys, about 6 of Joe's dog bones and a nasty baby bottle. (Reagan hasn't drank from a bottle in a year). Yeah, gross, I know.

What have we been up to the past month: Bubbles, tie dying shirts, bought a snow cone maker (best $20 I ever spent at Target. Love it!), playing games, putting together puzzles, making forts, sleeping in, trying to get organized around the house, watching way too many episodes of Ryan's Toy Review, cooking and baking, hearing Avery talk about wanting to go swimming or her new thing is gymnastics, having sleep overs in each other's rooms...overall just taking it one day at a time, even though it seems like the Ground hog day movie because everyday seems the same.

Have any of you bought anything super crazy while being in quarantine? No, just me? I would say the craziest thing I bought (but still have yet to receive, is the below...lol.)

Its actually a doll bed from IKEA but I saw people using them as beds/ bunk beds for their cats so you know I had to get them. Hopefully our cats will like it. If not, the kids can use them as doll beds.

:Last Friday was the end of the school year for Avery. I am so sad it ended with being at home. She loves her teachers and she really needs that in person interaction. Homeschooling wasn't beneficial for her. Not that the teachers didn't do a good job. They were awesome and very helpful along the way. The issue was more on my end (working from home full time while trying to home school) and on her end (lack of motivation). I really hope school in the fall is back to normal.

We started making a list of cute things that Reagan says incorrectly. I am going to list them here so I can look back at them over the years.

Mommy is waiting to put up our bigger pool until we get a fence around the patio so the dogs can't destroy the pool. In the meantime, this was all they had at the store. Everyone is sold out of pools. (We had a bigger blow up one last year but mice at holes in it when it was stored in the garage)

Quarantine

We hope you all are having fun in quarantine and staying safe. We have been trying to make it fun for the kids. We painted windows, made pizzas, had egg hunts. Augie's pizza near us have make your own pizza kits for $6... they give you the dough ,cheese, sauce and one topping. For kids they also give you a chef's hat and coloring sheet. Its a great deal and a way to support a local business. The kids are really starting to get antsy though. I don’t blame them since they have only left house once in the past 40 days and that was to hang out in the car while we went to my parents house and dropped Easter baskets off that my mom gave them.

The kids had a good Easter and had fun decorating eggs and finding a bunch of them outside.
Homeschooling Avery while working full-time from home has been ROUGH. She is very unmotivated so it’s difficult to get her to do things. She misses her teachers and friends. Reagan misses everyone at daycare. And they both miss seeing their grandparents and cousins. Though all Avery has been talking about is wanting to go swimming. I told her it will be awhile before that happens.

Tim’s finger is healing well but the occupational therapist says it’s going to be awhile before things get back to normal. He is out of work until at least June.
