Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

We hope you all had a great Christmas! Time seems to be flying and it seems to be getting more difficult to update these posts but I am going to try to keep at it. I am going to try to make the posts smaller but update it more frequently so it isn't such a big task adding all the pictures, etc.

Christmas was busy but great. Christmas Eve we went to my sister's house and celebrated with her family. Then on Christmas morning the girls woke up and saw their Barbie Dream House and didn't want to open any other presents, even when my parents came over with more gifts. We had Christmas dinner at Tim's parents and then celebrated exchanging gifts with his family. We had a great time. The girls got so many cool things. They also loved sliding down Grandma and Grandpa Svitak's stairs.  Avery only had one shut down, when it was her turn to open a gift and everyone was saying her name. I am happy that she seems to be less shy, especially around her family.

Avery had an appointment with ENT and Audiology in November. They did the usual test where she wears headphones and when she hears a sound, she is supposed to throw a ball in a basket. She scored how she normally scores on that. Since she was being cooperative, they were able to use bone conduction headset and do some testing. She scored really really well on that. That means that the nerve in her ear is not damaged, they think she just has conductive hearing loss. When the sound has to travel through her ear canal, that is when she has trouble. Either she has fluid in her ear or the insides of her ears developed abnormally/misshapen and that is blocking the sound from traveling. When she wears the bone conduction headphones, the sound doesn't have to travel through the ear canal so she can hear great. They think she is a good candidate for a bone conduction hearing aid headband so we are going to get fitted for that at the end of January. We saw ENT and her left tube is still in and her right tube was sitting in the ear canal. He tried to pull it out but was having difficulty and Avery started getting upset so he said it wasn't worth the hassle. That it will eventually fall out on its own.

At the beginning of December we went to take the girls to get their picture with Santa. Avery did SOOOOO good. I was so proud of her. Reagan on the other hand started screaming when we set her down so we were all in the picture again this year. I needed to come up with a somewhat funny Christmas card like we do every year so we just used the Santa pic (see below).

For New Years Eve, we just stayed in. The girls took a bath with their new bubble maker. it works really well. My drinking got out of hand in the past so I am no longer drinking. Thank you to our families that really helped out during that time. We couldn't have done it without you. We love you!

We celebrated NYE with sparkling grape juice and fancy (plastic) glasses. LOL. We hope you all have a great 2019!

Reagan is Two!!!

Hard to believe that Reagan is two years old! She turned two on October 15. The time has flown. We brought her home on Nov 25 after 41 days in the nicu. She is no longer on the preemie charts and is actually on the regular growth chart. We have never had a child that was actually on the chart before! She is learning new things every day. She likes to watch You Tube videos with the baby shark song and she likes singing Rock A Bye Baby to her baby dolls. It is so cute. She is definitely in the terrible twos now because one minute she will be having fun and the next minute she will be having a meltdown.

We got Avery's school pictures back. I am sad to say that it isn’t another classic like the one where she looks like a serial killer but it did turn out very cute. For the class picture she refused to look up so the teachers decided to bribe her for her individual picture. They offered her candy, she said no. They offered her a toy and she said no. They then offered her a $1 and she said yes. She smiled for the picture and after the picture, she put out her hand to get the dollar. LOL

Playing in the pool and eating apples. Yum!

We are fighting over the stroller even though we are both too big to be riding in it

Reagan was in the ER in September for breathing issues and she was given a little comfort kit. She looked so cute carrying it out of the hospital.

I put these puzzles together all by myself!
