Avery is going on the potty and Reagan is {almost} walking

Things have been hectic around here, just trying to get ready for the holidays. We are also putting in new flooring in our basement. Reagan has been taking a few steps. She now says momma, dada, cat, and dog. She shakes her head yes and no and gives open mouth kisses :) She is now completely off of formula and eating regular foods and drinking whole milk.

Avery has been doing AWESOME at potty training lately. She has even gone poop on the potty a few times. She does really well at school and daycare. At home when she goes potty, she likes to get completely naked LOL. She has been dressing herself lately too. She has learned to look for the tag on clothes and she knows that goes in the back. Tim also taught her when she has a long sleeve shirt on and wants to put a coat or another shirt on, that she has to hold her sleeve so it doesnt get all bunched up.

Joe is still eating things but not as frequently. He also still jumps when people come over but he has been calming down quicker.

Chewie is now 9 and getting a little slower but he is still awesome with both kids.

Tim and I dread the Christmas season because one of the girls are always stuck in the hospital. When Avery was about 14 months old, she was hospitalized 4 times that winter. Last year Reagan got RSV and was in the hospital for a week and in the PICU. She almost had to be intubated. I am praying we don't end up in the hospital this year.

We made our annual Christmas card picture. I will post it the next time I update the blog because I haven't been able to send it out to everyone yet.

I love tracing numbers and letters. I did this on my own for an hour one day

Momma was dying when she went to take a pic and i threw up a peace sign. She wonders where I learn this stuff.

Avery turned 5 and Reagan is one!!!!

I cannot believe I have a 5 year old and one year old. I am also a little sad that my last baby is already 1. We had so many complications through both pregnancies so we are done having kids. We have lucked out that our children are healthy. Even though we have had many complications/issues with Avery’s development, we know things could be a lot worse and we are grateful for how healthy she actually is.

Reagan turned one on October 15. Our lil pumpkin is one J
She is doing great. Both of them had physicals in October with our favorite, Dr Love.  Avery is 36 inches tall and 25 pounds. She is on her own chart J  Reagan is 19lbs (36%percentile on the normal charts!) and 27.8 inches and is in the 30% percentile. I am so excited she was 8 weeks early and on the normal charts for a 12 month old. As Dr Love said, she is a tank. She would be huge if she wasn’t born 8 weeks early.

We have been noticing that her one eye drifts to the side sometimes when we are standing a distance away from her. We have an appointment in January with the ophthalmologist to see what is going on.

We decided to wait one more month to start her on whole milk. It actually works out perfectly because she is still getting WIC during the month of November and gets 7 free cans of formula. She qualifies for WIC/medicaid for a year because she spent over 30 days in the nicu. Next month we won't qualify because we make too much money. WIC has helped us a great deal, probably saving us over $300/month in baby food, formula and baby cereal.

Reagan has been pulling herself up and furniture walking. She did stand up the one day but hasn’t really taken steps. At daycare they said she is so close to walking. She also likes to try any food in sight. So far she has not had any reactions to any foods. She did have a HORRIBLE rash the one day and it kept getting worse. We gave her benedryl at night (thinking it might have been an allergic reaction to food, but the next night it was even worse so we took her in. The rash didn’t seem to bother her at all (didn’t hurt or itch) so the doctor just said its viral and thinks her body was trying to fight off some infection. A few days later it finally got better.

Avery and Reagan both went as flamingoes for Halloween. I originally bought the flamingo costume for Reagan (because it is size 12-24 months). Avery tried it on one day and really liked it and wanted to be a flamingo but the biggest size it came in is what I bought Reagan 12-24 months. Since Avery is so little, it fit her anyway lol. They were so cute. We went Trick or Treating and Avery did not want to walk at the beginning but eventually got better. We probably ended up going to 30-40 houses which is much better than the 5 we went to last year. I have a feeling Reagan is going to love trick or treating next year.

We are being flamingos for Hallloween....yes,  the largest size this costume comes in is 12-24months but i think thats big enough for me, THe same size fits me and Reagan
