Reagan is 2 weeks old!

On Saturday, Reagan turned two weeks old. She is doing so well so far that I am scared something bad will happen soon. She has taken a few full feeds (now 34ml of milk) by bottle, even one for Tim. She is also doing well with the temperature decreasing in her isolette. There are talks of switching her to an open air crib soon! She is 4lbs as of Saturday. The nurse informed me today that there is another nicu baby named Reagan down the hall. And here I thought we picked a name that wasn't too weird and was somewhat unique. Oh well.

Avery still has a cough/congestion going on but she is acting fine. I really wish she would get well soon so we can take her to see her sister again. She had fun playing in the fall leaves that Tim raked up. We are excited to take her trick or treating tomorrow. She seemed to like it last year and this year she will be even more aware of what is going on.

There's my sister, isn't she cute?

No surgery for Avery :(

Avery had a cold and cough this week and we kept her home from school/daycare on Tuesday. We then sent her to school and daycare on Wednesday. She was scheduled to have dental surgery on Thursday. We woke up at 4:30am in order to get ready and get to main campus by 6am. We checked in, Avery changed into her super cute hospital gown and then we met with anesthesia. They decided with Avery's cough and congestion that they didn't want to risk it and they cancelled her surgery. She is now rescheduled for Dec 1. I am sad it got rescheduled because a few of her teeth look pretty bad and need to be fixed and also, Reagan will (hopefully) be home from the nicu by Dec 1 so then we will have to get someone to watch her when we take Avery for surgery. On a good note though she was able to attend her Halloween parade/party at her school and she will go Trick or Treating on Monday.

I ended up attending the parade at Avery's school today. The parents and some older students line up and the preschoolers and kindergarteners parade around the parking lot. Avery had her Minnie ears on backwards but I was just happy she had them on. She was super cute :)

Reagan has been doing really well. As of tonight, she is now 4lbs! She also took a full feeding (32ml) by bottle this morning which is a first for her! Tim visited her this evening and she took 16ml from the bottle for him. I tried a few days ago to feed her and she wouldn't take anything. Since the Indians are in the World Series, all babies born during the World Series get a Rally Together/Indians World Series onesie. They did the same thing for when the Cavs were in the Finals. I was hoping Reagan would get one even though she was born before the World Series started. Tim walked in her room the other day and the onesie was sitting on the couch. I was so excited she got one!

Just working on a masterpiece

Mommy and Daddy took me to Amazone which is a cool indoor play area.

Reagan has a candy corn hat! I had one when I was in the nicu too!

How cute is she?

Chewie and Scarlett wanted to show off Reagan's room. Its almost done

Sweet dreams!

Looking cute in my hospital gown

A Week of Firsts!

On Saturday, Reagan turned one week old! It's hard to believe she is a week old already. Hopefully she will be home in a few weeks so I have time to spend with her before I have to go back to work.

She smiled for the first time on Saturday. It was soooo cute! I don't know if she was actually happy about something or gassy but I don't care because it was so sweet :)

She also wore clothes for the first time this week. That is one of the milestones I get excited about when having a baby in the nicu. On my Time Hop app, Avery's first day wearing clothes was on this day (Oct 24) 4 years ago so they are right on the same time line. Hopefully Reagan will be home a lot sooner than January 9 which is when Avery finally came home from the nicu after 132 days.

Reagan has been doing really well. She is still on room air/no oxygen support. She doesn't have any IVs in, just the NG tube in her nose. She just started trying to use a bottle. She took 8ml yesterday and then 5ml and 3.5ml today. She is SUPER  cute too! Her one ear is a little crinkled on top but it just makes her even cuter!

Avery has been coughing a little and has a runny nose. I am hoping we won't have to reschedule her surgery on Thursday. She also has been pointing to her mouth. When I ask if her tooth hurts, she says yes but I don't know which tooth she is talking about. I really hope we won't have to cancel the procedure on Thursday. If we do, then we have to wait another month and it will most likely be scheduled right around Thanksgiving. I really don't want to wait another month because Reagan may be home from the hospital and then that's something else we will have to worry about.

Look at me in my Halloween costume. I am Minnie Mouse. I loved looking at myself in the mirror.

My sister's first smile!

The first time she is wearing clothes. She gets to wear all my old clothes. Mommy is excited because I had some really cute outfits

Mommy got these outfits from her Aunt Joyce in Wisconsin. I can't wait for Reagan to come home so we can wear them and take a picture!

Avery got to meet her little sister!

We have had a really busy week besides the whole giving birth thing :)

I was discharged from the hospital on Monday. One of the most exciting things that happened this past week is that Tim brought Avery up to meet Reagan for the first time. I didn't know how she would react. I figured she would take one look at her, climb on the couch and want to watch YouTube videos.

We brought her into Reagan's room and showed her the isolette. She was very interested in Reagan. She eventually waved at her and blew her a kiss. I am so happy I got it on video because towards the end of the video, it looks like Reagan blows a kiss back to Avery. I posted the video on YouTube. Let me know what you think....It is one of the cutest things I have ever seen.

I have been feeling ok since getting discharged. My main problem is swelling. My legs, feet and ankles are unbelievably swollen. I weighed myself a day or two before I gave birth and I weighed 113. I weighed myself the day after I gave birth and I weighed 121. That is 8 pounds of fluid. I had been hooked up to IV fluids since Thursday and was on a clear liquid diet. It has been difficult to get around. I have mentioned the swelling to every doctor and nurse I have seen since giving birth and everyone says that its normal and should go away in a week or two.

On Thursday, we signed the closing documents for our house. It is such a relief that we no longer have two house payments. I am also happy that the timing worked out and that I wasn't in the hospital when we needed to sign.

How cute is she?

I'm not sure I have enough stuff. I was only there a few days!

Avery got to see her poster in the nicu hallway. We made it for the March of Dimes walk 2 years ago.

Waving goodbye to baby Reagan

Avery walking down the nicu hallway was bitter sweet.

Eating some pizza...ignore the pepsi, that was mine.

Taking one last pic in Avery's old bedroom. She is actually smiling! This pic is definitely a keeper.

Not sure why but Avery decided to hug the fridge.

My legs and ankles DO NOT normally look like this!

A celebratory shot for signing our closing documents for our old house.
