Pictures...almost 10 months old!

I don't really have anything to update. Avery has been doing well since getting the tubes out. Knock on wood, no infections so far. She goes in for a weight check on Wednesday. I know they are going to say she isn't gaining enough weight but Tim and I refuse to go back to the feeding clinic. Hopefully they will give us other options.

Mommy and I

My cousin, Christina, got to meet me for the first time this weekend. She is graduating from high school!

Father' Day (Continued)

There isn't much to update. Avery is doing well since getting the tubes out. I just wanted to post some new pics!

Mommy's friend, Deb, got this picture frame for Daddy for his first Father's Day. I love it!

This is Mommy, Grandpa B. and I on Father's Day!

Helping Daddy plant flowers on Father's Day. Ok, I wasn't really helping but I was cute.

I am wearing my "My daddy is a plumber shirt" that Mommy bought for Daddy for Father's Day last year.

After Tigger and my rings, I think this monkey is my favorite toy.

How cute am I?!?

June 14, 2013

Sorry that I have been way behind in posting. We have been really busy lately. Avery had surgery on June 4 and ended up having her tubes removed. The next evening she started having green discharge in her right ear. She went back to ENT and they cleaned it out (Tim said he has never heard Avery scream like she did when they cleaned out her ears. I am sure her ears were still sore from the surgery).

I had to go to Las Vegas June 11-13 for a conference for work. My sister was kind enough to watch Avery while we were gone. (Thank you Janet!!) She said except for the first night when Avery got up at 2am and decided not to go back to bed until around 4, that she was pretty good. She got to hang out with her cousins, Eddie and Kaitlin. She also ate really well at daycare on Thursday, drinking 3 1/2 ounces, 4 ounces and 4 ounces when she was there which is great for her. While we were in Vegas, it was our 5 year wedding anniversary. Tim decided to upgrade us to first class on the way home and boy was that a great gift! I highly recommend it to everyone!

We got home last night (this morning) around 12:30am. We were so excited to come home and see Avery. We missed her so much when we were gone. This morning Avery woke up with a temp of 100.8. I had to go to her daycare to drop off a schedule and they said pretty much every kid in the class had a fever this week and it only lasted a day so I am hoping she will be better by tomorrow. Poor Avery, she just can't catch a break.

Here I am with my cool new bracelet

And here I am in my cool new gown

Tigger was there to comfort me

Looking pretty

My second favorite toy after Tigger are these rings

Who says I am underweight? Look at my thighs!

I was able to stand for a little while. Chewie had to come see what I was doing.

This is me standing without Chewies help

I made daddy a fathers day card at daycare this week. It looks like a shirt and my footprint is the tie!

What a Crazy Few Days! June 3, 2013

So much has happened in the past couple days, I don't even know where to begin. Avery got to meet her cousins last week. Tim's sister, Cheryl and her husband, Mike, were in town from Maryland with their kids Kassidy and Michael. Avery got to meet them and everyone had a good time.

Avery's 9 month check up was on Wednesday. She is STILL 21 1/2 inches and 11 pounds. I think this girl is going to stay 21 1/2 inches forever. We saw a different pediatrician because ours was out sick I believe. We saw Dr. Eva Love. I liked her a lot. She said she was concerned with Avery's weight but we agreed to say the reason for the lack of weight gain was because she was on two rounds of Augmentin and had diarrhea 4 times a day for two weeks. She asked if anyone ever told us to give Avery a probiotic while on antibiotics and we said no. The antibiotics destroy all bacteria, good and bad so the probiotics put good bacteria back in her body. Since being on the probiotics, Avery has not had any diarrhea. Avery's ear was infected, yet again! She couldn't believe that Avery had at least 3 ear infections since getting her tubes put in April 23. She did a culture and said she would call us back with the results.

Avery came down with a cold, cough, etc and Tim brought her back in to see Dr Love on Friday. She ended up prescribing an antibiotic. We wanted Avery feeling good because her first day of day care was set to be Monday, June 3. Dr Love ended up calling me Friday evening because she said Tim seemed a little overwhelmed at the appointment and she wanted to make sure I was aware of everything.

Today was Avery's first day at day care!

Dr Love ended up calling me at work today and told me that they want Avery to have surgery tomorrow. They said the ear culture showed yeast and a bacteria called pseudomonas aeruginosa. You can read about it by clicking on this link...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pseudomonas_aeruginosa
Of course I googled it and it didn't look good. They want her to have surgery to go in and clean out her ears really well and possibly take her tubes out. I talked to Dr Anne's (ENT) office and they wanted to see her today and also wanted us to see Infectious Disease.

I ended up leaving work at 12 and my mom ended up coming with me. (Thanks Mom!) I had drive home and get the stroller and then picked Avery up from day care. Her teachers said she did really well. She drank a whole bottle and then took a nap for two hours.

We headed down to main campus and saw Dr. Anne (ENT). She said that she isn't sure that the problems Avery is having is from the tubes being put in. I told her that Avery did not have any ear problems before then. She said she will go in there tomorrow, clean inside of her ears really well and then decide if she should take the tubes out or not.  They might also take blood work while she is under anesthesia to check her immunity.

We then saw Infectious Disease, Dr Sabella. My mom and I really liked him. He said that the pseudomonas aeruginosa seems to just be contained to her ears, which is a very good thing since if it goes into her lungs, etc it could be fatal. He definitely seems to think all of her problems are due to the tubes and he highly recommends that they be taken out. He said once the tubes get really infected with yeast and bacteria, it is very difficult to get rid of it. He also said that since the tubes seem to be causing all the issues, that we should see what happens without them. Tim and I (and my mom) agree that we would like the tubes to come out.

Avery is scheduled to check in for surgery tomorrow at 10am. I will post an update once we are home from the hospital.

I am enjoying the new couch Mommy and Daddy got
