Christmas/NYE

We had a good Christmas because surprisingly, none of us were in the hospital. For the last 4 out of 6 years, someone has been admitted to the hospital during the holidays. I'm amazed we are not in the hospital. We had no plans for New Years Eve. Luckily because Tim ended up being diagnosed with pneumonia and bronchitis. I fell asleep before midgnight..lol.

Not much has been going on besides Avery has been doing really well going on the potty. The only other thing that has happened in the past few weeks is that Reagan saw the eye doctor for her lazy eye. They said that since she doesnt seem to be nearsided, she does not need glasses. We are going to try a patch on the good eye for a year or two and hope it helps. Lord Baby Jesus, please help us when we try to put the patch on Reagan...lol. I asked the doctor what happens when our kid refuses to wear it and he said that we have to restrain her arms... then eventually Reagan will have to decide if she would rather have her arms un-restrained or if she would wear the patch. He said eventually she will figure out that wearing the patch is better than having her arms restrained. He said that if it doesnt seem to get better in a year or two that she will then have surgery to correct it. He said he normally doesnt like to operate until the child is 3 years old. Tim and I have not tried to put the patch on yet because Reagan has literally been HORRRIBLE these past couple of weeks. There is a book that divides child's development into "Leaps" and I believe she is between  Leap 8 and 9 which is NOT FUN. (https://www.thewonderweeks.com/the-mental-leaps-and-wonder-weeks/)

She is getting a few teeth in the top back of her mouth but I also read this is a crazy time developmentally and they act out. She will not let us put her down for 30 seconds. She has been going to bed really late and waking up 3+ times a night. It has been ROUGH. Hoping it will be over soon. Our super fun, happy baby is no where to be found at the moment, though she is amazing me with everything she seems to be learning. She signs all done , bottle/milk, and Bath now as well. She tries to say a lot of words including, mama, dada, dog, cat, bath, no, yes, etc. I am binge watching NCIS on netflix and everytime the theme song comes on she dances. It is so cute.
