Reagan's 3rd birthday and Halloween

Reagan turned 3 on October 15. When we would ask her what she wanted for her birthday, she would always say she wanted a Paw Patrol cake. We got her a Paw Patrol cake and a few toys. I can’t believe she is 3. Her favorite things right now seem to be baby dolls and playing doctor. She is sassy and stubborn and oh so smart. She is definitely a threenager, trying to be independent and also is very dramatic when things don't go her way.

Tim has been super busy with work so we are just trying to play catch up these days with cleaning, laundry, etc. Tim did take a day off one Sunday and since the weather was going to be beautiful and 70, we decided to go to the pumpkin patch. We invited Tim’s parents and we drove an hour to Ramseyer Farms in Wooster. It looked awesome and I was so excited because it wasn’t crowded. We got there right when it opened ….or so I thought.  We got there at 11 and apparently on Sundays they don’t open until 1. I felt like an idiot for reading the hours wrong online, until more people started arriving. Apparently I wasn’t the only one to read the hours incorrectly. We decided we couldn’t wait around for two hours and decided to go somewhere else. On the way there, we passed Lodi Outlet Mall and I saw on their sign they had train rides and pumpkins. I thought, “Why not?” since we have to literally pass it on the way home. We get there and it turns out the train is broken. Now we are 0 for 2. I felt so bad for the kids. They did still have pumpkins for $4 so we let them pick out some pumpkins and went home.

We were supposed to meet my friend and her daughter at the mall during the week but Avery ended up getting sick. She was throwing up and had a temp. I felt bad she had to miss the mall so that weekend we decided to take the kids to the mall to go in the big play area. We were going to eat dinner, then drop the kids off in the play area (pay to play) and then Tim and I were going to grab a coffee. We went to the play area and they were having a special Halloween party that you had to have reservations for. We had struck out again!

Reagan has been saying some cute things lately. She used to call chickens "Go Go's" for some reason. She now calls potato chips "tomato chips", calls vanilla "na-villa" and she calls the doorbell a "dingbell". I need to start making a list of the cute things she says.

So weather wise, it was a typical Ohio Halloween; cold, rainy and windy. And it snowed later that night. It was really cold out but Avery was doing so well. She was actually walking (and not being carried from house to house), she said "Trick or Treat" and "Thank you" at each house and she was saying hi to random people when we passed them. She was surprisingly social. We only went to about 10 houses. It was just too cold. Plus Reagan isn't a huge candy fan, except when it comes to suckers. The girl LOVES suckers. Avery on the other hand likes chocolate so I figured Reagan would be giving most of her candy to Avery (besides the stuff Tim and I eat secretly) and Avery doesn't necessarily need a ton of candy so we didn't stay out long. Next year I am definitely going to take them to some trunk or treats or indoor trick or treating.

Avery's school had their annual Halloween parade today. I think it was colder than yesterday. Just standing outside for 15 minutes was brutal. I don't know why they don't hold it in the gym or have the parents line the hallways. It was just way too cold to parade outside. Of course Avery just had her head down the whole time. She hates crowds. Even when I called her name and said hi, she refused to smile for a picture and refused to look at me. Her teacher said now she doesn't feel so bad because Avery didn't have a positive reaction seeing me. I said yeah she reacts this way with everyone. We hope you all had a safe and happy Halloween!

Here is my school pic for this year. I did ok for my individual picture. I wanted you to see my two new bottom teeth! I didn't do so well on the class picture though. See below.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!
We hope you had a great holiday. I am so happy Easter finally came because for the past 3 weeks, Avery has been talking about the Easter bunny. She was very excited to wake up on Sunday to eggs hidden all over and her Easter basket.

We had a busy weekend. Saturday morning, we went to an Easter egg hunt at Tim’s parents development. They had food and games and hid some Easter eggs filled with candy. There was also a raffle and Avery won a stuffed duck. Of course when they said her name, she hid her head immediately. She gave the duck to Reagan and Reagan loves it. Tim and I went to a comedy show Saturday night (Alan Cox Show Comedy Tour) and my sister watched the kids. Sunday morning the kids found eggs and looked through their baskets. I spent most of the morning trying to prevent the dogs from eating candy. Every time I turned around, one of them had a Reese’s cup in their mouth, wrapper included. The girls got candy, some small toys and fairy wings, a wand and skirt. They dressed up and were dancing around the house in their wings. It was really cute.

Next my parents came over and brought the girls their baskets. We went to Tim’s parents for dinner and hung out with his family. They received bags with Easter candy in it there as well. Avery is in heaven because she LOVES candy.

Tim has been working on building a small deck/set of stairs so the dogs will be able to be let out the back of our house into the backyard. Soon we are going to be remodeling our house and the dogs won’t be able to go through the kitchen/garage to get outside. I am not looking forward to the construction but I cannot wait to see the final result. We are taking down the wall between our living room and kitchen to have an open concept. We are also making the kitchen bigger by taking up part of our garage. We will eventually be building a new garage down the road. I won’t necessarily miss parking in the garage since I haven’t parked in there in a year because we always have so much stuff in it.

Our new chicks are one week old and they are getting so big already! (Fingers crossed that they aren't all roosters!)
