Pulmonary follow up

Avery has been doing pretty well. She had a follow up with Dr Carl who is her pulmonologist on Friday. He asked how she was going on the Flovent and using the inhaler. She has been doing great with it. We sometimes bribe her when giving her the breathing treatments. We are supposed to squeeze one puff and then she is supposed to breathe 6 deep breaths, wait a minute and then repeat. We bribe her with her vitamin which she thinks is candy. Sometimes I think its amazing that she knows she is supposed to take deep breaths when she is doing that.

Avery has had a runny nose for the past few days. Dr Carl said her lungs sound great so we were happy to hear that. I am so happy we ended up pulling her out of daycare. I know this winter would have turned out much differently if we did not.

Avery pulled out her hearing aids 3 times today. I am worried either they might be bothering her or her ears might be bothering her. I put wax drops in so we will see how she does tomorrow.

Avery and I went to the rain forest with my friend Leanne and Avery's best friend, Aria. She was not good the whole time we were there. She made me carry her the whole time. Those of you that know me know that I am a wimp so it was difficult holding her the entire time. I would put her down next to an exhibit and she would run back to me. She would only look at it if I was holding her. She wouldn't walk next to me, holding my hand. She would just hold onto my leg until I picked her up. She is so shy, I do not know what to do. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. She has also been really bad at the grocery store. She refuses to sit in the cart. Tim now has to come with me or I have to leave her at home. I am sad I no longer have my well behaved shopping buddy. We used to go everywhere together by ourselves and now its very difficult.
