A New Year and a New Word

We had a good New Year's. We ended up having my sister, her husband, their kids and a few friends over for New Year's Eve. It was low key but we all had a good time. We used to have a huge New Year's Eve party every year before Avery was born and haven't had one since until now. On New Year's Eve two years ago, Avery was transferred from Hillcrest nicu to Main Campus so she could have her G-tube surgery. Last year, Avery was sick around Christmas so for New Year's we were still trying to isolate her from germs.

There hasn't been much happening with Avery lately but that can be a good thing.  I am going to try not to jinx it. She has been babbling a lot more. We took a video of her talking to the cat in our bedroom and when she got to the closed door, she knocks on it and we swear she says "open". Let me know what you think! Be sure your volume is up on your computer.

I am pretty talented and can do a cool trick where I drink and the liquid comes right out of my nose. This is why Mommy and Daddy are most likely going to decide to have the fistula sutured closed in the summer. It can't be good to always have a hole in the roof of my mouth.

At Cleveland Clinic we have an Intranet in which all the Caregivers can see what is happening in the company. There is a section called Our People in which they interview a Caregiver. I received an email a few weeks ago saying I was nominated. I asked who nominated me and they said normally they keep it anonymous but that this was a special nomination. She said Toby Cosgrove, Cleveland Clinic's CEO, mentioned me by name. I emailed him a few weeks back just thanking him for our awesome healthcare benefits. I told him that we really appreciate it and that if it wasn't for the great benefits, we could be bankrupt because of all of Avery's issues. Here is the article that they published on the Intranet.

I passed cards out for the game that the adults played on NYE.  I hope my physical therapist isn't looking at this pic because I am sitting in the "W" position which isn't allowed!

Mommy, when is One Direction going to be on?

Kaitlin is one of my best buddies!

See I told you. We are hanging out again and she is helping to feed me

These hats are stupid

Check out the new flash Mommy got for her camera!

I didn't bother doing my hair today, in case you couldn't tell.

Man, Mommy and Daddy are slave drivers..

Hanging out with my cousins. I love them even though I don't look thrilled in this picture. I was running around and Mommy put me in the chair for the picture and I was not happy about it.

Mmmmm Doritos.

Don't let the size of this plate fool you. I only ate like 5 bites of garlic mashed potatoes.

Eating at my new table. Be sure to check out my shoe selection for the day. I brought these to Mommy and I wanted her to put them on me. Nothing classier than socks with sandals.

Aren't there child labor laws around here??

Mommy showed me this picture of Scarlett sleeping on my bean bag chair after I went to bed one day. I am not happy about that, Scarlett!

See Scarlett, what goes around comes around

I am so popular that I have an audience when I eat.

Lily Tickle Tail. She is a good cat and puts up with me.

Packing up all of Mommy's toothpaste that she is donating to the group Kisses from Heaven.

I brought this into the bathroom, climbed in and wanted Mommy to push me around. This is the size of a shoe box

New car shopping. Yep, I think this is roomy enough for me

This is Auntie L's son, Chuck, and her new grandson Greyson!

How am I supposed to smile with that thing next to me? He is pretty cute though!
