The first few days in the nicu

So this will be Reagan's home for the next few weeks. Avery had spent 132 days here. We know Reagan's time here won't be as long but we also know that any amount of time here is not fun. It is so difficult to get discharged home and have to leave your baby here at the hospital.

Reagan has been doing really well since birth. She has been on room air in the nicu, not needing any oxygen assistance. I really think the steroid shots I received have helped a great deal. She started on taking 5ml of breast milk and in the past few days has moved up to 26ml. (almost an ounce) every 3 hours. She did have a couple bradys (slowing of heartrate) and apneas (not breathing/forgetting to breathe) so they started her on a maintenance dose of caffeine.

How cute is this outfit from Aunt Janet?

:)

What color would you say her hair is?

Face Timing with big sister Avery!

Her feet seem pretty big!

In this pic you can see the marks on her head from the Non stress test sensor that they screwed into her head. She has a few marks because they tried to get it to stick a few different times throughout the day on Friday

A few gifts from Therese, the March of Dimes coordinator and Jackie, a nicu nurse who remembers when Avery was in the nicu :)
