Avery is one week old!!
It's hard to believe a week has gone by since our lives have changed forever. There have been some great moments and also some scary ones this past week but we feel we have been very blessed so far along this journey.
Today Avery received another blood transfusion. The nurse said it's common for some babies to have had four transfusions already. We knew eventually she would get another one and she has been doing well since receiving it. They are also decreasing the pressure slowly on her ventilator and she has been responding well so far.
No more sunglasses! Her bilirubin levels have improved so she no longer needs the light for now. She also opened up her right eye. Until today, it was still fused shut.
